Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 March 2026

1. About gleam

gleam. (“gleam”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a peer-to-peer marketplace that enables users to store, manage, and sell unused gift cards, vouchers, store credit, and similar prepaid instruments (“Cards”). gleam is operated by gleam and is accessible at gleam.no and related subdomains.

By creating an account or using gleam in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use our platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use gleam. By creating an account you represent that you are at least 18 and that all registration information you provide is accurate, current, and complete. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate this requirement.

3. How the marketplace works

gleam acts as an intermediary platform. We are not a party to the underlying gift card transaction between buyer and seller. Here is how a typical sale works:

  1. Listing. A seller adds a Card to their wallet and lists it on the marketplace at a chosen asking price.
  2. Purchase & escrow. A buyer purchases the Card. Payment is captured by our payment processor (Stripe) and held in escrow for 24 hours.
  3. Card access. The buyer receives the Card details immediately after payment and has 24 hours to use or verify the Card.
  4. Auto-release. If no dispute is raised within 24 hours, payment is automatically released to the seller minus the platform fee.
  5. Disputes. If the buyer encounters a problem (e.g. incorrect balance, invalid Card), they may open a dispute before the 24‑hour window expires. Evidence is required. gleam will review and resolve the dispute at its sole discretion.

4. Fees

gleam charges a platform fee of 5% on each completed sale. This fee is deducted from the seller’s payout at the time of payment release. There are no listing fees or buyer fees. We reserve the right to change our fee structure with 30 days’ notice.

5. User responsibilities

By using gleam, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about any Card you list, including its balance and retailer.
  • Not list Cards that are stolen, fraudulently obtained, or otherwise illegitimate.
  • Not use gleam for money laundering, fraud, or any unlawful purpose.
  • Not attempt to circumvent the escrow process or platform fee.
  • Respond promptly to disputes and provide truthful evidence when requested.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials.

Violation of these responsibilities may result in account suspension or permanent ban at our sole discretion.

6. Limitation of liability

gleam provides the platform “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that any Card listed on the marketplace will have the stated balance, be valid, or be accepted by the issuing retailer. Our dispute resolution process is provided as a courtesy and we are not liable for losses arising from transactions between users.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, gleam’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the fees paid by you to gleam in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

7. Intellectual property

All content, branding, design, and software on gleam is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of gleam without our written consent. By submitting content to gleam (e.g. dispute evidence, reviews), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content for the purpose of operating and improving the platform.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice, and will require renewed consent before you can continue using gleam. Your continued use of the platform after any non-material change constitutes acceptance.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason with reasonable notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support at henrik@gleam.no.
